Richard Woodall

Bass - Baritone

RICHARD WOODALL has enjoyed an extensive career in opera, musical theatre, concert and cabaret.
He has been particularly noted for the Bass-Baritone Buffo roles in operas by Mozart, Rossini, and Donizetti, where his natural gifts for comedy have been allowed to develop.
His career was launched as a founder member of the reformed D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, and he has notched up a large number of the Bass-Baritone roles in this repertoire to considerable acclaim.

Richard's appearances in 2009 include the role of Doctor Bartolo in Rossini's 'The Barber of Seville' for St Albans Chamber Opera. This will be Richard's third role in Rossini's comedy, having already undertaken the roles of Figaro and Don Basilio.
Richard will also be participating in productions of 'Carmen' at the Royal Albert Hall and 'Peter Grimes' with English National Opera.
